Condition

The chair is in overall good condition consistent with age. Executed in Cuban mahogany and with a rich dark stain, the sinuous forms of the arms and legs have been professionally and cautiously refreshed. The wood surfaces present with faint and scattered nicks, scratches and minor scuffs, all consistent with age. There is a minor separation in the joint at the base of the proper right arm, but this is stable and common for wood of this age. There is a sensitively executed professional stabilization to the proper right front leg as well as the knob at the front of the proper right arm. These are very well done and nearly seamless. The upholstery has recently been replaced with neutral toned leather which beautifully compliments the deep stain of the mahogany. The seat with a series of light scratches as well as a small patch of varying hue to the backrest. Overall the curvaceous arms are complimented by the subtly splayed legs in this thoughtful and carefully executed design.
