Condition

The chair is in overall good condition consistent with age. Executed in Cuban mahogany and with a rich dark stain, the sinuous forms of the arms and legs have been professionally and cautiously refreshed. The wood surfaces present with faint and scattered nicks, scratches and minor scuffs, all consistent with age. The upper portions of both arms as well as the joint of the proper right back leg with sensitively executed professional stabilization. The restoration is very well done and nearly seamless, making is visually unobtrusive. The leather is recently replaced and in good clean condition, with a few areas of minor color inconsistencies. A form rarely seen at auction, the rich wood is complimented by naturally hued leather.
