Condition
Both canvases have been lined. A minor surface abrasion to very lower centre edge of 'Aphrodite'. Some occasional very faint lines of craquelure to both; otherwise they both appear in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals minor cosmetic retouchings to 'Hermes', mostly to the background. 'Aphrodite' has a couple of spots near lower left edge and upper right edge but are actually outside the area of the circular painted surface.
Both held in matching gilt frames with a wooden inset under glass.
