Condition
The canvas has been lined, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals scattered small retouchings in the background, as well as some retouching in the sitter's proper right cheek and below his left eye, and in a small area of his hand. In overall good condition. Offered in a later carved painted and gilt wood frame in good condition.
