Description

  • Paper
i) 13 Chinese images printed and painted on rice paper, various sizes (one drawing approximately 170x257mm., 12 drawings approximately 180x105mm.), loose, a few minor tears and loss to edges, very faint staining;

ii) Three Buddhist manuscripts, Burma, nineteenth-century or later; 75 leaves, wooden boards painted in red, yellow and black, bevelled edges, stringing cord threated through embossed metal device (355x42mm.); 62 leaves, wooden boards with metal edges, stringing cord threated through embossed metal devices (463x60mm.); 31 leaves, wooden boards painted in red and black, stringing cord, (310x50mm.), overall light wear, browning and staining;



iii) Volume of Japanese woodblock prints by Kunisada, folio (370x220mm.), 66 illustrated pages (2 extra pages of illustration attached to paste-down endpaper), sewn brown wrappers, small holes to all leaves, minor browning or staining, wrappers worn and nearly detached
