  • A collection of photographs, together with related material, comprising:
  • Paper
i) 18 vintage photographs, including four with captions in pencil on the reverse, seemingly in Lawrence's hand, two of Ahmed Dahoum taken at Carchemish, c.1911, one depicting him carrying water ("Dahoum, the water-boy, and our most intelligent person: taken when he was very tired one evening. He usually laughs, and spoils my photos"), the other depicting him wrestling with another boy with a caption on wrestling technique ("...The pace is tremendously hot, and they wrestle nearly every day at noon"), and two depicting a Bedouin encampment, c.1919 ("Some of the onlookers Hachim's camp", and "Khoja: C.L.W.: Hachim Ibn Muheid | The peace conference Turkish agitator-envoy prominent in centre background..."); the remainder depicting archaeological excavations and other subjects, in a modern photo album with press cuttings relating to Lawrence

ii) 14 letters by Sarah Lawrence, mother of T.E. Lawrence, to her friend and former neighbour Mrs Hutchins, Oxford and elsewhere, chiefly 8vo, 35 pages, 1950s, two letters incomplete



iii) The Letters of T.E. Lawrence. Jonathan Cape, 1938. 8vo, inscribed to Eileen Hutchin by Hen., publisher's compliment slip pasted in ("With compliments of the Lawrence Trustees from Jonathan Cape"), in a dust-jacket for The Home Letters of T.E. Lawrence
