Catalogue Note

“William Lashly was a petty officer on the two Scott expeditions… He is best remembered for the saga of the return of the Last Supporting Party from the south with ‘Teddy’ Evans and Petty Officer Tom Crean from 4 January to 22 February 1912, during which Lashly and Crean saved Evans’s life, and for which King George V awarded both men the Albert Medal... This thin, small volume is of substantial rarity” (Rosove).
