Condition

This work is in excellent exhibition overall. Minor warping of paper caused by the weight of acrylic paint is observed which is intrinsic to the artist's choice of medium. Please note that this work is not examined out of its frame. Framed in Plexi.

Catalogue Note

José Parlá is a Brooklyn-based artist with roots in graffiti and street art. He is best known for is murals and large-scale compositions which resemble city walls that have accrued years of graffiti, posters, and fliers. He blends graffiti-like curvy gestures, calligraphy, and personal inscriptions with blurred color fields produced by layering techniques and mediums. “Mono-Transfer Untitled” is a unique set of layers of paint and plaster achieved by pressing paper on the surface of larger paintings.
