Condition

Colour: The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate. Condition: This work is in very good and original condition. The bed sheet is atatched verso to the backing board in several places. As a result, there is some slight undulation to the sheet. All four edges are frayed, which is in keeping with the artist's choice of medium. Close inspection reveals a number of stains, media accretions, most notably to the upper left corner and upper left quadrant which are original.

Catalogue Note

"The content of her work may be crude, nihilistic, defensive, but the form will be deliberately girlish and winsome to deliver the punch more keenly" (Laura Cumming, ‘Tracey Emin: Love is what you want – review’, The Observer, 22 May 2011, online).
