Description

  • Rosewood Dalbergia, Glass
of circular section, the top panel inset and black lacquered, over a recessed waist carved with a stiff-leaf band, the flared and shaped apron with an elegant peony meander in low relief extending to the upper section of each of the five angular cabriole legs terminating in upturned leaf feet, joined by a ring stretcher over five low bracket feet, glass tops (4)

Condition

The stands are in good overall condition. The lacquer at the top panel is lifting (particularly visible along the line where the boards underneath are joined) and has scattered losses. There has been overall consolidation with filled, patched and other minor repairs. The surface with wear, small nicks, chips and scratches consistent with age and use. One stand has a loss to the tip of one acanthus leaf foot and the base is a bit uneven. Please note that this lot will require a CITES permit for export outside of the United States.
