Condition

The panel has been cradled and is slightly bowed. There are indentations in the paint layer along the edges from a frame and the remnants of gold leaf are visible in places. There are also light abrasions to the edges. There are two areas of retouching visible to the naked eye in the sky, a larger one in the upper left corner and a smaller one near the upper right edge. There is a layer of surface dirt. Inspection under UV light confirms the presence of the aforementioned areas of retouching. Held behind glass in an ornate gilt wooden frame with plaster mouldings.
