Condition

The panel is flat and uncradled, with supportive joints along the seam between the two horizontal planks which comprise the support. The paint surface is relatively clean, and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There is some old restoration to the joint between the two panels which is visible to the naked eye. Under ultra violet inspection there are minor scattered retouchings throughout, including to the Virgin's face and drapery. The work is offered in a carved ebonised and gilt wood frame.
