Description

  • Rosa Bonheur
  • Two recumbent tigers
  • Watercolor over traces of black chalk;
    signed and dated, lower left: R. Bonheur / 1887

Condition

The four edges of the sheet are currently covered by the mount and as such it has not been possible to examine the extremities of the sheet. The presence of a backing board suggest that the sheet may have, at least, been partially laid down. The watercolor medium is in very fine condition throughout. Sold in a modern giltwood frame.
