Condition

This work has remained in good condition. The paper has discoloured at the extreme edges of the sheet, but this does not effect the balance of the composition.

Catalogue Note

The sitter was governor of the city of Multan and led the Sikh rebellion against the British in 1849. After the British re-established control, Diwan Mulraj was imprisoned and later died in captivity near Calcutta.
