The colours of this work have been well preserved. There is some discolouration to this sheet and some scattered foxing.

Catalogue Note

Chattar Singh was Governor of Hazara province and was a military commander in the army of the Sikh Empire. Between 1848-49 he fought against the British in the Second Anglo-Sikh War. He is seen here with his second son, Attar Singh, who was captured by the British after the Battle of Gujrat (February 1849), and held prisoner at Fort William, Calcutta.
