Commissioned by Sir John Trevor (c.1637-1717) for Trevor House, later Powis House, Knightsbridge and probably removed to Brynkinalt, Denbighshire in the mid-18th century when Trevor House was given up;

Condition
A fine and very rare pair of chairs in good conserved condition. There is a metal support bracket to the front right leg of one chair. The back right leg to the other chair has evidence of light restoration. There are some minor losses to the feet which have been lost a long time ago as the surface has developed an aged patina. The rear legs have some evidence of old worm which have been treated and is no longer active. The original tapestry is a little tired and has some minor tears which may benefit form some minor workshop attention. With old marks and scratches commensurate with age and use.
