Condition

The sheet undulates very slightly in places, and is lifting away from the board that it has been laid down on at the upper right and lower left corners, but otherwise appears sound. There is an Artist's pinhole in the upper right corner, and there is also a very small loss to the tip of the paper at the upper right corner. There is some craquelure and reticulation to the ochre pigment in the lower left quadrant, with some very small resultant flecks of loss. There is also a line of craquelure to the white pigment just beneath this, and one or two further very small, faint lines of craquelure and reticulation to the white rectangular shape at the right edge, and the cream rectangular shape at the upper left corner. There is a very tiny speck of loss towards the lower left corner of the light ochre rectangle in the lower right quadrant. There are two scratches visible in the upper right corner, with a light scuff above these to the left side of the upper horizontal edge, and there may be one or two further light scuffs to the work in places. There is some light surface dirt and studio detritus to the work in places, and there is some discolouration to the sheet and to the traces of adhesive around the edges. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. The work is fully laid down onto a board, which has been float mounted within a simple wooden frame with a painted edge.
