Catalogue Note

first edition, one of 150 large paper copies signed by Synge and yeats. The limited edition of Synge’s classic account of the people from the lonely and barren islands off the Galway coast. It was also an important milestone in modern Irish publishing, and the only book published by Maunsel to include hand-coloring of an artist’s work.
