Condition

The panel is uncradled, flat and stable. The surface is clean and the painting is presentable. The sky is more blue in the actual painting than it appears in the catalogue photograph. Overall the paint surface has been very well preserved and there is lovely retention of detail throughout. Examination under UV light reveals a couple of small retouches in the sky at center near upper edge, another in sky at upper left and in extreme upper left corner. A few minor retouches can be seen along right edge. There is a very thin horizontal line of retouching (about an inch long) in sky at far left edge at center over a possible panel join. There may be some very light retouches along the wood grain in the sky, but these do not fluoresce. The architecture and foreground look very good with no discernible retouches. This painting can be hung as is. Offered in a black ebonized wood frame.
