Condition

This work is lined and may be stretched on a new stretcher. The paint layer is stable. It seems that some instability and loss had developed, and the areas of artist's restoration were added to address this, possibly after the work was lined. Some of these restorations may be in the vertical red shape on the right side and in the same color on the left side. Some of the unevenness in the other colors, particularly the white background, are presumably also attributable to this second campaign of painting by the artist. No restoration is recommended, as it seems that most of what is seen at present is original. The work can be hung as-is.
