Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. The colors are vibrant, and the media layer is stable. Light wear and a few scattered pinpoint paint losses are present along each of the extreme edges of the canvas. Under ultraviolet light examination, a fine band of inpainting becomes apparent along the extreme left, upper, and right edges of the canvas. Additional fluorescence occurs in the lower center quadrant in the floor and in the center right quadrant in the proper left forearm of the figure, which appears to be inherent to the pigments selected by the artist.
