Condition

The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case in overall fair vintage condition with wear, scuffing and scratches consistent with use and age. Some signs of polishing. Heavier scuffing to the case bands, especially above the crown on the right. Dial in overall fair condition with some signs of vertical striping. Surface debris and dotting throughout. Some light areas of scuffing and oxidation. A discolored oxidation area below "P" in "PATEK." Please note that the Extract from the Archives state that the indexes are raised indexes in white gold. The present lot is with painted black indexes. Movement in very good condition. Please be advised that the bands on this watch are made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) and thus not sold with the watch, they are for display purposes only. We will remove these bands prior to shipping.
