Catalogue Note

In 1972, Audemars Piguet introduced the renowned Royal Oak, designed by the legendary Gerald Genta. At the time, producing a luxury watch in stainless steel was considered quite unorthodox, however this worked in its favour and the watch experienced a rapid rise in popularity. This popularity has certainly remained undiminished and now, the Royal Oak can easily be considered of the most instantly-recognizable watches in the world.

Using the design and dimensions of the original, the extra-thin Royal Oak reference 15203PT was made in a limited edition of 40 pieces in 2012 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the model. This rare watch features the skeletonised calibre 5122, based on the original Royal Oak calibre 2121, it is highlighted by a contemporary decoration and a galvanic anthracite treatment. This occasion presents an excellent opportunity to acquire a piece which pays tribute to one of the most iconic pieces a collector could wish to have.
