Condition

Overall very good condition consistent with age and gentle handling. Both candleholders present with minor rubbing and faint surface dirt to the patinated areas. The parcel gilt areas with minor and scattered oxidation as is typical for this material and age. The glass beads vary in coloration from clear to more opaque and a few have very minor clamshell chips to the fitting edges, none of which are visually distracting. Most of the beads are fixed on the metal "thorns", while a several beads throughout both are movable on these metal elements. One candleholder possibly missing two glass beads at the bottom edge. And the other candleholder with one missing "thorn." The interior candlecups on both holders are not fixed, but rest on the central structure. There is some wax remnants under and around these candlecups as is consistent with use. An iconic model from this designer.
