Condition
Overall very good original condition. This work epitomizes the range of color and decorative scheme of the "Sculpture Front" motif by Paul Evans. The panel displays rich tones throughout ranging from deep greens to vivid blues and brilliant orange. The gilt surfaces retain their superb metallic tone throughout. With some minor surface dirt to the recessed areas of the decorative scheme as well as minor white paint residue on the reverse. This pieces presents with a highly details and sculptural decorative composition. The present work is a rare example of a large-scaled panel from Evans' "Sculpture Front" series. The panel has tremendous visual presence when viewed in person and can be hung on a wall like a painting. The work is of considerable weight and Sotheby's recommends the assistance of professional art handlers when installing this work.
