Condition

Overall in good condition. When viewed in person, the wood and leather present with a richer and warmer color than in the catalogue illustration. This chair is very slightly darker in color than lot 41. The wood surfaces present with minor surface scratches, abrasions, light surface soiling, minor stains and a few discolorations consistent with age and gentle use. The proper left upper corner of the backrest with an old restoration and the underside of the seat with evidences of glue from an old reinforcement, which don’t affect the solidity of the chair. The lower portion of the chair with a few expected stains and evidence of wear. The leather has been replaced in a manner which is consistent with the original and presents with very minor surface scratches and light surface soiling consistent with gentle use. The chair has retained its original brass tacks. A rare and elegant design by Josef Albers, previously in the collection of the North Carolina Museum of Art, en suite with lot 41.
