each of archaistic gu form, the central bulbous section rising from a splayed foot to a tall trumpet neck with a galleried rim, brightly painted to the exterior with the ribbon-tied 'Eight Auspicious Emblems', surrounded by stylized lotus blossoms borne on leafy foliate stems, all divided by decorative borders of angular plantain leaves and gilt lappets, the rims with gilt keyfret bands, the interior and base enameled blue and turquoise (2) 

Condition

The interior of the top section of each vase has been restored and the interiors of the lower sections have star cracks. One vase has restoration to the keyfret border on the exterior mouth rim and an old label reading '1487'. The other vase has touch-up painting on the lower band of lotus lappets and lacks three small bolts to the interior, but the vase is intact, possibly reinforced. Each vase also has overall wear, minor scratches and minor dents throughout. Each with bright enamels overall.
