Literature

The initials are ALK below an earl’s coronet for Augusta Lavinia Priscilla (1813-1904), second daughter of the 4th Earl of Bessborough, who married on 18 Marcy 1834, William Thomas, Earl of Kerry (1811-1836), elder son of Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, 3rd Marquess of Lansdowne (1780-1863). The Countess of Kerry was married secondly on 2 April 1845 to the Hon. Charles Alexander Gore (1811-1897), fifth son of the 2nd Earl of Arran.

One of the crests of the Earls of Lansdowne is a beehive beset with bees.

Condition

Good clear marks. Light surface wear to gilding on the pot, a little more so on the stand. Erasure to finial. Otherwise good.
