Description

Set with cushion- and pear-shaped rubies and circular-cut and cushion-shaped diamonds, post and hinged back fittings, Dutch assay marks.

Condition

Accompanied by report no. 5777–9865 from GCS, stating that the rubies were found to be of Burmese origin, with no indications of heat treatment. Rubies in surmounts measuring approximately 6.7 x 7.0 x 2.1mm and 7.0 x 7.1 x 2.6mm, rubies in drops measuring approximately 9.3 x 7.3 x 3.7mm and 9.5 x 7.2 x 2.9mm, calculated to weigh approximately 0.87, 1.14, 1.81 and 1.43 carats respectively. Diamonds bright and lively, mixed colours and clarities, majority of diamonds estimated to be VS-SI clarity on average, estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.50 - 3.50 carats. Hinged back fittings secure. Light scratches and areas of minor wear to facet edges consistent with wear, and light scratches and areas of light discolouration to metal surfaces consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
