Description

  • 18 carat gold, platinum, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, cultured pearl
Comprising: a pair of ear clips, the surmounts set with baguette, marquise and brilliant-cut diamonds, suspending four interchangeable sets of detachable drops, set with oval rubies, pear-shaped sapphires, step-cut emeralds and cultured pearls respectively; a brooch designed as a fly, set with pear-shaped and circular-cut emeralds and brilliant-cut diamonds, maker's mark; and a brooch of giardinetto design, set with variously cut emeralds, rubies, yellow and blue sapphires and brilliant-cut diamonds, the urn set with a carved sapphire, Italian maker's mark.

Condition

Giardinetto brooch with maker's mark 1813 AL for New Italian Art SRL, stamped 750 for 18 carat gold to reverse. Fly brooch stamped PT and 750 for platinum and 18 carat gold, indistinct maker's mark to reverse. Emeralds mid to light green, yellow sapphires light yellow, sapphires mid to light blue, rubies mid purplish-red, all transparent, with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, some surface-reaching. Cultured pearls of white body colour with pink and green overtones, with slight banding, and some areas of very light scratching and pitting to nacre. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weights approximately 2.00 - 2.50 carats in giardinetto brooch, 2.00 - 2.50 carats in fly brooch, and 7.00 - 9.00 carats in earclips including four sets of drops. Clasps in good condition. Light scratches to metal and stone surfaces consistent with wear. In good condition.
