Condition

This work is in excellent condition overall. The canvas is unlined. There is evidence of very minor wear and handling along the turning edges. The surface variations seen throughout are inherent to the artist's chosen medium and working method. Under close inspection, the newspaper collage element at the top right edge appears to be slightly lifting. Unframed.

Catalogue Note

"It was certainly rock ‘n’ roll. I remember first hearing Little Richard. Immediate connection…immediate. Don’t know why. Just did it for me. Elvis’ ‘Hound Dog.’ Fantastic. I'm like six years old when I hear it. I remember my parents letting me play it in a diner, on one of those little juke boxes they had at the end of the table. Incredible. And yeah, we were the first generation actually to grow up on TV. I mean you’re five years old and you’re grooving on ‘Zorro.’"
