Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The edges of the sheet are slightly deckled and there is a slight undulation to the sheet, inherent to the artist’s working method. The colors are bright and fresh. Under very close inspection, faint graphite smudges are visible near the graphite medium, likely from the time of execution, and there are four minor areas of unobtrusive fiber accretions to the red pigment where it has been applied thickly in the shadow of the hammer. The sheet is hinged verso intermittentlyalong the edges to the mat. Framed under Plexiglas.
