Condition

Please note that the eyes of the birds have been inlaid with stones and that the figures have not been examined beneath the metal mounts. There is some overall minor and occasional flaking to the green enamel in places. There are occasional chips or restored chips to the applied leaves on both birds. The one on the right in the catalogue illustration: There is restoration to the lower tip of its left wing, both of its legs and its right, back two talons. The upper section of the tree stump has also restoration, possibly from adjacent restorations to the legs. The other bird has a few small areas on the wings that have been touched up possibly covering flakings.
