Condition

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, framed between backing board and glass. The sheet is slightly undulating. The lower edge is uneven with tiny teeths and associated flecks of paint loss. Examination under UV light appears to reveal a small area of retouching (approx. 11 cm long) to the centre of the upper edge and a few further smaller spots of retouching in the yellow/green pigment. There is some minor stable paint shrinkage to the thicker applied white pigment and a few tiny flecks of paint loss towards the centre to the upper edge. There are some faint surface scratches with associated tiny flecks of pigment loss in the black pigment notably towards the right corner. The sheet is slightly light stained. This work is in good condition. Frame: there are some tarnishing to the metallic pieces, some faint handling marks in places and a few surface scratches to the yellow glass stick. This frame is in very good original condition.
