Condition
Slight cupping to the panel, a few stable age cracks (under 10" long and at the margins), scattered scratches and losses. Replaced frame: 31 1/4 by 27 1/4 inches.

Catalogue Note
Richard Wylly Habersham (1786-1842) married Sarah Hazzard Elliot (1792-1854) in 1808 in Beaufort, South Carolina. He graduated from Princeton College in 1810 and was soon after appointed a U.S. Attorney in Savannah. In 1825, he resigned and was named Georgia Attorney General. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1839 until his death in 1842.
