Condition

Good condition overall with minor wear to the patina consistent with age and handling.Very fine and crisp cast. The fig leaf appears to be a later addition

Catalogue Note

Un bronze du même modèle - d'après le marbre antique du Museo Nazionale, à Naples - figurait dans la collection Abbott-Guggeinheim (vente Christie's, New York, le 27 janvier 2015, lot 103, adjugé 40 000 $). L'attribution à l'atelier du bronzier Camelio se base sur la comparaison stylistique avec le relief de la Bataille des Géants (Ca d'Oro, Venise; cf. J. Warren, op. cit., p. 174).
