Description

  • signed: AL BARYE and inscribed: F. BARBEDiENNE. Fondeur.
  • bronze, rich brown patina

Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is very good with minor dirt and ware to the surface consistent with age. The bronze has been cast in sections and joints are very slightly visible on Theseus's proper right arm, and on the centaurs' tail. There is some minor rubbing to the patina, notably at the highpoints. There are some very small scratches to the bronze, including to Theseus's face on the proper right side and to Bianor's proper right pectoral. There is a very small patch on the back of Theseus's neck, which might cover an original casting flaw.
