Catalogue Note

C'est Giacomo Raffaelli qui réalisa le premier ce portrait d'un chien de chasse assis, un modèle ayant été monté par J.C. Neuber dans une tabatière en pierres dures, désormais dans la Collection Gilbert au Victoria & Albert Museum, illustré par A. Kugel, Gold, Jasper and Carnelian, cat. 135, p. 358. Ce modèle fut maintes fois copié et nombre de micromosaïques furent attribuées à Raffaelli, attributions aujourd'hui reconsidérées.
