Condition

To the naked eye: The pastel appears in beautiful condition. We notice some little dots of restoration in the green dress of the figure sat in the foreground. Under U.V. : We don’t notice any restoration.

Catalogue Note

Marie-Aurore de Saxe, comtesse de Horn, puis Madame Dupin de Francueil, (1748-1821) était la fille naturelle du maréchal Maurice de Saxe, mais aussi la grand-mère de George Sand. Libre-penseur, elle était adepte des philosophes tels que Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau ou Buffon.
