Description

  • silk, pile
  • approximately 178 by 125cm; 5ft. 10in., 4ft 1in.

Condition

Overall measurements: 120cm across the top, 125cm across the bottom, 178cm along the left hand side, 176cm along the right hand side. A very pretty leaf trellis design, with sparkling colour. Pile overall 2mm, with oxidisation to the dark browns in the centre of the field. Some fold wear horizontally across the centre of the field, also approx. a quarter of the way down there is another line of foldwear and localised spot wear in upper quarter of field and adjacent border. Scattered areas of localised wear in lower most portion of field, but generally silk is quite 'full'. Sightly splayed at the top, slightly bowed at bottom (approx. 17cm at narrowest point). There is some surface marking which might improve from a professional clean. Side cords original with losses to wrapping particularly on the left hand side and a little on the right hand side. Upper left and right corners at extreme edges with some re-piling and re-fringing.
