Condition
Good condition overall. The black patinated plaster busts imitating bronze with a few minor chips particularly to the edges of the busts and to the folds of the draperies as well as the edges of the marble bases.

Catalogue Note
L'original en marbre du buste de François II (1544-1560) est conservé au Musée du Louvre (inv. n° MR 1634) et celui de Charles IX (1550-1574) à la Wallace Collection (inv. n° S154), réalisés vers 1570-79. Ces deux bustes en plâtre, ainsi que les colonnes qui suivent au présent catalogue, figurent sur une aquarelle d'Alexandre Serebriakoff (1907-1994) représentant l'escalier d'honneur de l'hôtel de Charles de Beistegui rue de Constantine, à Paris.
