Woodcut, 1933, a vibrant impression, the colours fresh, printed from seven blocks in turquoise, blue, red, yellow, dark-green, ochre and light-green, the rare fourth state (of five), with the complete inner contours of the middle figure printed in red, and before the delineation of the feet of the left figure, signed in pencil, inscribed 'Probedruck', one of approximately 30 known impressions in various states and colours, on laid Japan paper

Condition

With wide uneven margins, a deckle edge at lower, in good condition with fresh colours, scattered fox marks in the margins, a band of adhesive staining at centre of each sheet edge verso shows through recto, a shallow semi-circular paper loss at upper left edge of sheet with associated discoloration (three hinge remains at upper sheet edge verso), unframed.
