  • gelatin silver print
mounted to card, signed and dated in pencil on the mount, the photographer's 'Köln, Hohenstaufenring 46, Telefon Anno 5474' studio and reproduction rights stamps on the reverse, framed, 1928

Condition

This early print, on semi-glossy paper with very thin margins, is in generally very good to excellent condition. In raking light, minimal age-appropriate silvering is visible near the edges. Also visible upon close examination in raking light are the following: a small fingerprint in the lower right quadrant; and several tiny deposits of original retouching overall. A thin 1-and-1/2-inch line in the central portion of the image is in the negative and not a feature of the print. The upper edge of the mount is affixed to a modern window mat. The reverse of the mount is lightly soiled from handling. When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
