Description

  • Charles Jones
  • 'Turnip Green Top'
  • gelatin silver print
ferrotyped, initialed and titled in pencil on the reverse, framed, circa 1900

Condition

This ferrotyped print, on double-weight paper, is in generally very good condition. As is typical of the ferrotyping process, a slight unevenness of the glossy surface and some minor pitting are visible in raking light. Upon close examination, a few extremely faint linear impressions and handling creases, including one at the upper right corner which appears to break the emulsion, are also visible. In raking light, several small areas along the edges exhibit minor chipping and peeling.
