Condition

In overall good conserved condition. The colour overall is slightly darker and the gilding is more golden natural and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Some very minor surface dirt to the gilt-bronze border round the top which can easily be cleaned. Some very minor chips and pitting to the marble top which is generally in very good order. The giltwood base is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. There are some minor chips to the giltwood base which can easily be touched up. There are construction cracks at the joints especially around the wooden border to the top where it meets the frieze and scattered age cracks which are commensurate with age and normal usage and can be left. Some very minor losses to the giltwood base due to worm damage. Some old very minor restorations to the carving which has been very well executed and is hardly noticeable.
