Description

  • 6.5cm., 2 1/2 in high
of globe form, engraved with alterning panels of roses and Pâris & The Three Graces, opening to reveal silver-gilt spice compartments, each engraved with name of spice, 'Muskat, Schlag, Bernstein, Rosmarin, Canel, Negelken', and scrollwork ornament, with traces of enamelling, screw-in suspension loop

Condition

The interior with traces of enamel. The screw out base probably lacking spice spoon. Some old re-fitting to segments. Three segment slides with cut ends. The exterior engraving slightly worn commensurate with age, otherwise good condition, very nice object but would recommend viewing.
