Description

  • Sapphires, diamonds, gold
Comprising: a necklace composed of step-cut sapphires within frames of brilliant-cut diamonds, alternating with diamond cluster links, the front highlighted with pear-shaped sapphire and brilliant-cut diamond pendants, length approximately 470mm, French assay marks; and a pair of ear clips, each surmount of cluster design set with brilliant-cut diamonds, suspending a pear-shaped sapphire stated to weigh 9.22 and 9.84 carats respectively, within a frame of brilliant-cut diamonds, French assay mark. 

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 84958, stating that four sapphires are of Burmese origin, six are of Ceylon origin, and six are of basaltic deposit, twelve with no indications of heating and four with indications of heating. Necklace: French assay marks and stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. Inscribed BR 71.81, referring to the total carat weight of the brilliant-cut diamonds, on average G-H colour, VS clarity, as graded in the mount. Inscribed with the carat weight of each sapphire on the back: 4.43 (step-cut), 3.96 (step), 3.19 (step), 5.73 (step), 4.18 (pear-shaped), 6.29 (step), 10.90 (pear), 10.0 (step), 9.73 (pear), 12.47 (step), 13.89 (pear), 5.35 (step), 9.00 (pear), 6.38 (step), 4.25 (step) and 4.10 (step). Sapphires well matched in colour, blue of strong saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching; for further details on the sapphires, please refer to the gemmological report. Ear clips: French assay marks and stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. One ear clip stamped S 9.22, referring to the carat weight of the sapphire, and B 8.32, referring to the total carat weight of the diamonds; the other ear clip inscribed S 9.84, referring to the carat weight of the sapphire. Sapphires well matched in colour, blue of strong saturation, with typical surface reaching inclusions. Diamonds on average G-H colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Little signs of wear top the metal. In very good condition. Total gross weight approximately 23 grams.
