Tirages albuminés d’époque. Format carte de visite (89 x 58 mm et 88 x 58 mm), contrecollées sur cartons au nom du photographe.

Proust a ici 20 ans, époque à laquelle Jacques-Émile Blanche fait sa connaissance. Le peintre et le photographe saisissent la même fine moustache, le teint de cire et l’élégante cravate.



Le visage plus massif, la moustache plus fournie, Robert Proust contraste avec la langueur de son aîné.



Le portraitiste Paul Boyer reprit le studio parisien d’Otto Van Bosch en 1888. Installé boulevard des Capucines et à Trouville, il fut actif jusqu’en 1909.
