Condition

The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals two spots of retouching to the upper and lower left corners. There are further small isolated, scattered spots of retouching to the tree at the centre of the composition, the snow-covered field and the horizon to the left part of the composition. There are fine, scattered lines of stable craquelure. This work is in overall good condition.

The artist's half-brother was Mayor in the small village of Hondouville-sur-Iton, situated between Evreux and Louviers, from 1888 - 1906.
