Catalogue Note

With a Breguet certificate, an instruction manual and a presentation box made of resonant wood.

Debuted at Basel World in 2010, the Breguet reference 7800 Classique “La Musicale” watch combines time telling with a remarkable patented musical mechanism. It plays a crystal-toned version of "The Thieving Magpie" aria by Rossini, either on demand or at the desired time, like a melodic reminder. Breguet describes this timepiece as a “music box” on the wrist. In order to transmit sound effectively and power it with a mechanical system, Breguet utilizes all the savoir-faire of its watchmakers, designers and engineers. The watch is accompanied with a special box made of resonance spruce wood, a particular type of wood from the Risoud forest in Vallée de Joux. It is often chosen by luthiers as the vibrating membrane on stringed instrument, and noticeably amplifies the music played by the watch.
